New My Minds Eye Lush2 - Divine!!!

While kitting up at Tomorrow's Memories I was lucky to be around while pricing some stunning new papers from My Minds' Eye.  And I got to bring some home to create a sample for the shop - look at that flocked damask... sigh, heaven!  It's simply stunning!

I framed it with some Kaiser Timeless PP and AC Cardstock, some crochet trim, tags, Green Tara Flowers and leaves, a fabulous Dusty Attic Damask chippy {a perfect match}, some muslin and Collections Transparency, and some of the gorgeous Butterflies I got from Kay's Kreative {they are so pretty!}.

Pop into Tomorrow's Memories soon because I think these papers will run out the door!

Take care of you.

Steampunk Couture

Yep... it's a big blogging day today!

I created this as a kit for Tomorrow's Memories, was so excited because I love the G45 Steampunk papers!   Sonya chose all the perfect bits as well, making my job super easy!

They are great value and the kit has everything in there except the stain for the clock and the alphas {because we are assuming most people don't do the 'steampunk couture' thing!   But the lace, antique book text, german scrap, bling, cardstock, papers, tag, muslin, flowers and cool steampunk style clock face is all in there for you to re-create this LO with ease!

If you want a kit and you're in Perth, drop on in and grab one, if you're not give them a call or email them - I'm sure they'll post one out for you!!

The Aussie Way

Not quite the usual fireworks and fun LO one would expect for an Aust Day Celebration, but it was too hot to go sit in the sun and wait this year... so we stayed at home and had ourselves a good old Aussie BBQ with Lamb Chops and Sausages!

Although this is simple, I love it... I don't think it needed much more, especially after adding that fabulous Fleur De Lis Frame.  Funny thought: every time I use or see a Fleur De Lis I always think of Jen B, they're her 'thang' and she always uses them well!

This gorgeous new Dusty Attic Foliage spray was perfect to soften the layout without adding 'girly' elements to it - seriously men, get over the flower thing LOL.

I've inked this, then sprayed it with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist... and then stamped an image with Versamark, sprinkled in some new {to me} Ranger Embossing Puffs that Inspired Crafts had just got in Friday night and embossed the image... oooh lordy me, why did I not know this existed before, I love it!  Then I covered some parts with Clear Rock Candy Crackle {Michelle's influence, I'm going to stop having to look at her stuff, she's going to cost me a fortune} and then inked some more.  Thank goodness Dusty is made of the good stuff with what I put it through!!

Take care of you.

Happiness Is...

Scrapping LOL... ok, not just that, a hot cup of tea and a tim tam cuts it as well!
For the Dusty Day Workshop at Tomorrow's Memories in December, Gabby Lewis stopped by and took some photos... here's one of mine, I LOVE it - she made me look GOOD!!

I titled this one Happiness Is... because even though I'm crazy busy, I'm happy... having a happy hubby helps that a lot, but I also have my other basic happiness needs met right now - appreciation for things I do, friends who are there for me, many hugs from Kel and my husband who loves me as I love him... life doesn't get a whole lot better than that!

I'm so loving the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology papers... I must get more as I think it's going to be one of those permanent loves, they make me happy when you add the ink to get your 'own' paper!  I've also almost decimated my last order from Creative Bits here on 1 layout, Chan sells these cute as crochet doilies, and now some cute cute buttons - I had to nab the sweet bird buttons she has created!  Ahhhh... and flowers, all sorts... some from Scrapsidaisy, some from Tomorrow's Memories, some from Red Earth - I do get about when I go flower collecting!

I also love the Dusty Attic Mini Doily sets... they make me happy too!

Take care of you.

Winter, Spring...

The new releases from Dusty Attic are mostly based around additional accents for the shadow boxes and other fabulous elements, with insert trays and mini accents, snowflakes, flowers, foliage and wings - I need them all LOL.  The Snowflakes are a real treat, delicately cut and so intricate, totally beautiful.  And so began a series of Shadow Boxes, all from the inspiration of a sheet of snowflakes!

 Winter

All pieces were inked and then sprayed with Chalk Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, the fence and tree both have some Verdigris Embossing powder sprinkled over them, and some white embossing powder added on the tree to enhance the cold wintery look.  The tree was also coated in some Tinsel Town Glimmer Glam to add to the shimmery cold feel of winter.

and what better to do with the new Flower Layers than create...

 Spring

Spring is all fresh and new, cool and green... new butterflies, new flowers.  The Picket Fence was simply painted white, then Picket Fence Crackle Paint was applied to add a slightly worn look.  The Vine was painted and then inked, misted etc.

The Flower Layers were much fun!   This one shown here was created from just 1 layer... there is a Tutorial available for this at Dusty Attic Ning, click the image below to take you there.

The frames were painted to match the papers I chose to cover the front and inside.  Layers of paints and crackles, stickles and Glimmer Glam... there will be a tutorial available for this sometime soon as well!

Summer and Autumn are still works in progress!  Personally I am hanging for the REAL Autumn to get here, I'm a little weary of summer LOL!!

Take care of you.

February @ Red Earth Scrapping...

This month at Red Earth Scrapping we are focusing on journaling... one of those things many of us seem to have forgotten in our scrapping journey {ooooh yep, major culprit here}.  So I'm embracing it... baby steps at first though!

Helen sent me some of the fabulous Glitz Love Nest range to play with, along with journaling cards and notes... and so far I have created this one of Darren:

 Finally...

The chipboard here was inked, then dabbed with some warm white paint and while wet quickly sprayed with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist {Chalk}, it's my favourite technique at the moment, I love the soft effect it gives.  I layered a group of embies that were passable on a masculine page, old buttons, key plate, pebbles etc and then softened the cluster with some added muslin, which is repeated throughout the layout.

and this one as my challenge for the month:

Memories

Again, more clustered embies... even some flowers in here {Kel's a toddler here, and i can get away with them in my mind LOL}, more buttons and key plates... just little trinkets reminisce of yesteryear.

All the chipboard was inked and then sprayed with a lot of Chalk Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, then sprayed quickly with some Peacock Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.

The challenge was a simple one for me {I was particularly evil last one} and is to created a layout with journaling ON your photo.

 Take care of you.

Gypsy Journal

Just have to share some sneaky pics of a class I have running in March at Tomorrow's Memories.

It's a memory album, with room for journaling, all hand made and hand sewn in a way that can be extended if you wanted to add more pages later.  So if you like to create that something a little bit special, pop into Tomorrow's Memories and have a look and come join me.  Keep an eye out for the newsletter as more details will be in there, but don't take too long - spaces are limited!!

Take care of you.
