Odd One Out - Green Tara

Hi again!  Today I have another monochromatic'ish {there's an iddy bit of other colour in there LOL} to share with you.  I found this photo in my stash of NY photos when I created my True Romance layout.  I knew right away that this one NEEDED the purple Heirloom Flowers, it was a perfect match!

I've created clusters with Heirloom Flowers, Cherry Blossoms, Primulas and White Petals and accented them with Silver Diamante Trim, Lace and Tulle.  And last but not least added a couple of Green Tara's sweet Embossed Butterflies.

I folded the White Petals in half and tucked them in under the clusters to soften the edges.  The small Heirloom Rose was a little large for my cluster so I removed the bottom layer of petals, and then tucked this in up on the top left, adding interest and keeping the exact tone I needed.

The handmade ruffle was topped off with a layer of White Tulle, Lace and some Silver Diamante Trim.

I have also trim the Heart Diamante Trim to individual Hearts to use as little 'trinket' accents throughout the page.

Once the layout was all put together I covered the photo and sprayed with Mixed Berries Smooch Spritz to add some more of the purple tones throughout.

My Time - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone!

I just have a fun little share with you all today. Please excuse the gruesome photo... that's Zombie Mis, a little present from Natasha {ummm yeah, I gave a hesitant thanks... really chocolates would have been plenty enough!}. "My Time" is when The Walking Dead is on.  The boys know to not hassle me until the ad breaks are on!  So I thought why not scrap it, just another little snippet of who I am at this time.  Crazy thing is... Zombies scare the daylights out of me, yet I love this show.

Thankfully though I didn't scrap it Zombie Style... I used instead my fave papers from Donna's new ranges and my fave flowers cut using the Rose Creations die...

...and a sweet as butterfly cut from Denim using the Wonderful Wings Die, then topped off with some matching Bling from Want2Scrap.

I love these alphabet stickers from GCD Studios.  They are a great shape and size and I love the dictionary print... here I've just inked the edges lightly with Mix'd Media Inx Chox to add a little more colour to them.

Underneath I've also inked with Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx over one of Donna's new Stencils from Want2Scrap.  I like the subtle effect, just adding a little more visual texture to the page.

I've popped in some trinkets, buttons and sweet little dew drops to finish it off...

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time, take care of you!

Our Sweet Girl - Green Tara

Hi everyone!  Today I have a simply layout to share with you using minimal colours, just Black, White and Green.  I was sorting through my papers, ready to cull them since they were overflowing their storage.  I try to do this at least once a year, put them back into order, sort out ones I like but haven't used and pass them onto my mum.   When doing this I found these old BoBunny papers and just knew I had to use them.  Teamed up with some Kaisercraft Timeless 6x6 papers and offcuts I had a perfect monotone background to work with.

While looking for what colour to use with them I found the gorgeous Green Tara green toned flowers, perfect!  Bright and happy and something a little unusual!  I have used Roses, Primula's and Silk with Swarovski Crystal flowers on this one, as well as one of my favourite lace trims.

I created a ruffle using paper from the 6x6 Kaisercraft Timeless Paper Pad and finished it off with the Green Tara Lace.

They may only be sweet little clusters... but with the monotone background they really add impact!

I've stamped some of the background with some Kaisercraft stamps, painted a Kaisercraft butterfly white and then sprayed across the stamped and clustered areas with Green Olive Smooch Spritz.  As always the flowers and the lace hold the colours beautifully.

Thanks for visiting today!

Blessed - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #20

The latest Australian Scrapbook Ideas magazine is out and here's the first of my layouts for them this issue.  I did a Masterclass on the Rule of Thirds, a principal I always seem to use, even unknowingly.

I've been going through the magazine daily since I got my copy in the mail... it's fabulous, getting better and better.  So many wonderful ideas to incorporate into your own style!

I've used lots of Green Tara Flowers and Handmade Halo Resin and Dew Drops on this one, and all those fabulous pinky peach tones, sigh... love girly girly sometimes!

Lots of sweet Dusty Attic chippy as well... painted and inked and covered in glitter {there's a little tutorial on how in the magazine}.

Love the tones in these papers...

More closeups... lots of deliciousness!!

Thanks for visiting today, I hope this inspires you!

You can find the full materials list and step by step instructions for this layout in Issue #20 of Australian Scrapbook Ideas.

High Tea Card - Handmade Halo

Hi everyone... today I have just a little share for you.  It's a sweet little card I made just for the fun of it. I was rummaging through my Handmade Halo Charms and found this sweet teapot and teacup, and after having just sorted all my papers out I remembered the sweet teacup images on Pion's "For Mother" range, so created a cute little High Tea card.  I love High Tea, would love to go with some girlfriends one day to one of the fancy places... but there's nothing wrong with having sweet little treats and teacups at home on a girly day in!

I have trimmed the card with these gorgeous flowers and ribbons and laces from Green Tara.  I have used a Pincushion flowers and layered it with a Lace Pearl flower in matching tones.  Then I've tied a big floofy bow using Polka Dot Organza ribbon.   This ribbon really is the ultimate in girly sweetness... it's just one of those perfect ribbons!

Thanks for popping in today... hope you are all well, if not, why not treat yourself to a little High Tea to cheer yourself up!

Beautiful - Dusty Attic

Hi everyone!  Today I have a layout to share with you of my beautiful ma... she's a special one this one.  Beautiful inside and out, always there for all of us with her logic and unselfish giving.  When I grow up I want to be just like her!

I have used some of the new release Dusty on this, one of my favourites from the release, the small Elegant Flourish.  I couldn't wait to use it and while creating this layout I knew it would be perfect!  Jen has also release mini Script ABC Set which matches her mini words, so now we can make our own words or add to the exisiting ones!

I've also used some of the sweet new Dusty Roses.  These are available in so many wonderful vintage colours and 2 sizes - 1cm and 1.5cm

The chippy was simply painted white and then accented with some Luminarte Silks in Opal, it gives it a delicate soft shimmer.

I've added layers and layers of ruffles and lace, some of my handmade flowers, some resin flowers and also a lovely Green Tara Primula and Diamante Trim.

Thanks for visiting, until next time - take care of you!

Love to be Loved - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi lovelies!  Today I have a layout using Donna's gorgeous papers from her Natural Beauty line.  This one was the sketch and colour challenge a few of us have been playing with.

This time instead of plain cardstock I have made some flowers using layers of the printed paper and her deliciousness new mulberry papers from her Stax2.  The mulberry paper works beautifully when diecut and then wet.  It softens the card weight paper and holds beautiful shape once dried.

I've created a polka dot ruffle with some crotchet lace and denim trim...

Another close up of the flower... I used the Rose Creations die for this one.

I also used the Shadow Flowers die to add some interest to the cluster on the left.  I used the Mulberry Paper and added some smooch spritz by brush to the edges... the mulberry paper 'sucked' up the colours and created such a fabulous effect.

Just a short sweet one for today.  I'm working on a little tutorial using Donna's Stencil designs from Want2Scrap to share with you soon, so keep your eyes out!  Thanks for visiting, see you again soon.  Mis xo

Madonna MDNA, Yankee Stadium

[click on the image for a larger view]

Hi everyone... today I have a layout to share with you that was a huge challenge for me.  The dark deep colours and patterns really threw me for a curve ball, but I got there; and got there happy!

This started as a single... but ended up as a kinda double.  Usually I do double pages like I would a single {as one spread}, but I had already cut most of my original page, so I mirrored the background design. This way I can use them as singles, or as a double!

I kept it quite simple... and embellished with deep red flowers.  These were bought as a bunch and then pulled apart, what a great idea when looking for something that little bit different.  I've also tucked in a pincushion flower, roses and cherry blossoms from Green Tara, they finish of the large bold flowers perfectly.

I also created a deep fancy ruffle, overlaying the paper with Black Tulle and some gorgeous blingy trim I found in my stash.

I've tucked in some bible pages... not sure how naughty that is in the eyes of God, but at least I read some of it first!  It was needed for the concert pages though, with that stunning opening scene of hers with the huge cross and the music and the chanting and oh em gee it was incredible!   I chose pages that had relevant headers, adding that extra little touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
