Sadie and Xena - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone... this month at Donna Salazar Designs is was my turn to create a layout for Michelle.  She sent me a photo of 2 of her little fur-babies to scrap.  Look at those two... they are so cute, mother and daughter!

I chose the Botanic Beauty paper from the Botanique Collection for this one because of the gorgeous flittering butterflies {I love butterflies}.  I cut them all out from the paper and some more from the Botanique Cards paper and placed them hither thither... I imagine that the cats are dreaming of them!

Donna's papers always seem to go hand in hand with bows for me... this one was tied using some Coloured Jute Ribbon.

I cut and created some roses from cardstock using Donna's Rose Creations Die by Spellbinders...

added some Want2Scrap LeCreme Pearl  Flourishes to frame the photo...

cut a little tab from Want2Scrap Canvas using Donna's Creative Page Tabs Die...

and tucked in some little self adhesive leaves with a scattering of more Want2Scrap LeCreme Pearls...

I hope you're liking this Mich!!  xoxo

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time, take care,

Mis xo

Sunset - Green Tara

I decided to try something a little different for me... keeping it simple and leaving some white space!  For me this was not as easy as it looks... but I wanted to really show off these gorgeous Green Tara flowers and thought this was the way to do it!

I sprayed the background with some Smooch Spritz, the Candleglow and Mixed Berries were the perfect match for Green Tara's Lavender Velvet Rose and Ivory Gardenias.

I sprayed the Green Tara lace {this is one of my FAVE laces} with Candleglow Smooch Spritz so it stood out from the white background.  Green Tara lace always holds colour mists so well.

I love the size of the Velvet Rose, they are simply stunning.

The chipboard was simply sprayed with Black Velvet Smooch Spritz and once dried with Mixed Berries Smooch Spritz... the glimmer pools on the black background leaving a mottled effect.

I love the 'messy' look of the Gardenia's... it gives them that natural look and offsets the perfection of the roses.

I've popped in some of the new Purple Velvet Leaves, adding leaves to your flower clusters helps them blend well together.

Lastly I added a whole pile of stitching to the border.  It took ages and halfway through I was saying "what was I thinking"... but it looks so effective I know that I'll use this stitch again!!

I hope you find some inspiration from my layout today... it's simple and spacious, but I still got all my favourite elements happening!!

WOW - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone!  Today I have another 'boy style' layout to share with you, using Donna's Storybook papers.  This is my son, just a few weeks ago... a rare 'allowed' photo moment!  Why he needs to pull such a goofy smile now I don't know, but I'm just happy he at least smiles!

As always, the background patterns of Donna's papers are perfectly versatile.  These papers had cute funky images, but were a little young for this photo of Kel, so I have just used the background patterns.  Look at how cool that blue corrugated paper looks!!

I used a Spellbinders Die to cut some of the Manilla from the Mix'd Media Stax to create a little journal card.  I also trimmed up some Canvas and made tags and little tuck-ins to add interest.

I've also tucked in some of the Want2Scrap Denim, and cut some into a little tab with Donna's Creative Page Tabs Die from Spellbinders. The GCD Compatibles Alpha's were lightly inked around the edges and then outlined with a sepia pen.

The Dusty Attic Chipboard was inked with Truffle and Denim Mix'd Media Inx and then spritzed with water to blend the colours.

I hope you find inspiration from my layout!  It's been so nice to get back to 'boy style' and Donna's Storybook papers made it so much easier!!

Take care,

Live In The Moment Reverse Canvas - The Dusty Attic

Hi everyone... I have another little reverse canvas to share with you all.  It's a simple little one using a Dusty Attic Crane and Mini Frame.  I've kept them very simply decorated because of the intense colours of the canvas.

The canvas was covered with ceramic stucco and coloured with Starburst Stains and Smooch Spritz.  Once dried the inside was flooded with crackle accents and left to dry for a few days.  It was a thick coating and took a few days, but I love the really thick cracks it created!

The crane was painted with white gesso and then coloured with Smooch Accent Inks.    The Mini Frame was coloured with River Mossy, Olive Vine and Ice Rink Smooch Spritz.

And have added some Authentique Diction Stickers.  These are so handy, I always find the perfect words from them.

Butterfly Kisses and Look Through - Dusty Attic ATC's

Hi everyone... I have a couple of ATC's to share with you today.  These were created for The Dusty Attic, one is for last months theme of "On the Red Spectrum" and the other is this months current theme of "Through the Window", both fabulous ideas for themes!!

Butterfly Kisses - Red Spectrum ATC

Last weekend as I was creating, I realised my messy sheet had the perfect colours to create a background for the Red Spectrum ATC.   If you end up with lots of messy sheets, before throwing them away, have a look at the colours and patterns left behind, you might be able to use them again on your projects!

A Flutterby was inked with Schoolhouse Mix'd Media Inx and sprinkled with Fairy Dust Glitter...

One of the ATC Frames was painted with Warm White paint and then the edges lightly swiped with Schoolhouse Mix'd Media Inx and spritzed with water to soften it.  When dry it was covered with a thin coat of crackle accents and sprinkled with Mica Flakes.

Look Through and Dream - Through the Window ATC

I didn't have any windows small enough to create this, so I cut down and re-glued one of the doors, it worked a charm!

I added some brickwork to the side, a 'curtain' gently draped across the window and a little dreamy Parisian scene to dream about!

Sugar - Green Tara

Hi everyone!  I have this layout of our little kitty cat to share with you today.  She rules the house this one, but she's just so cute that we don't mind being owned by her LOL.

I have used lots of Green Tara goodies on this one, the peach tones and white elements complimented the papers by Donna Salazar beautifully.

Apple Blossoms, Heirloom Fabric Flowers, Gardenias and Roses all work so well together.

The new velvet leaves add a beautiful softening touch.

Some Dusty Attic chipboard coloured to match the flowers.  The chipboard was painted warm white and spritzed with Holly Berries, TeaParty and Pralines and Cream Smooch Spritz and then once dried embossed with UTEE and sprinkled with Fairy Dust Glitter.

Green Tara Lace is always fabulous to add a soft feminine touch to your pages.  I have used 2 different kinds here and tucked them under the paper edges.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time, take care and be true to you,
