Love and Magic, Reverse Canvas - Green Tara

I sat down to create a lovely layout to share with you all on the weekend, and created a reverse canvas instead... as you do!  It's funny where your imagination and products will take you.

I had collected a pack of the petals and a mix of roses, as well as some banana leaf fibre paper and that stunning piece of lace... all in those lovely seaglass, turquoise and white tones... my favourite, and then just played and ended up with another item to decorate my studio with!!

I reversed the canvas and lined it with the 12x12 Banana Leaf Fibre paper, allowing it to crumple to add texture.  I added impasto to hold the lace and add texture and also used some Opaque Flakes Medium and Diamond Dust to add sparkle and interest.  I love the effect of all these wonderful textures.

Then I adhered a few of the flat petals from the petal pack.  These are such a great quick grab item, 22 petals with different sizes, all in the some colour.  I used white here so that I could spray them with some colour.  I overlapped them and covered most of the background, leaving the fabulous banana leaf fibre to show through in places and then I sprayed with smooch spritz inks to get some amazing colour and shimmer happening.

I tucked in some Dusty Attic Flourishes which were painted white and then covered with Fairy Dust Glitter... I love sparkle.

A little quote that means something to me...

I hung a Dusty Attic Birdcage from the lace with some rusted old necklace chain, saves to hold onto those old bits of 'junk', they come in handy!

Ahhh where would we be without the beautiful Green Tara roses!  I have used 3cm, 2cm, 1.5cm and 1cm roses in White, Mint and the new Turquoise.   Some of them were sprayed with Ice Rink Smooch Spritz to give them just the right tonings {and shimmer} to match my background.

I hand painted this little bird I had in my stash with Smooch Ink to match, she was just right sitting with the flowers!

Thanks for visiting, take care and be true to you.  Mis xo

    1. It is... it was so hard to photograph to get all the texture and layers, but I've tried to capture all the little cute snippets.

I've glued ribbon to the edges since and tied it at the top with a big bow so I can hang it on the wall, my cupboard tops are getting full!! Mum says it's time for me to start selling what I make... LOL, she's so funny!!
