The Color Room #55

I can't quite believe I've not blogged for almost 3 weeks... when does that happen!!   I've been busy with work, busy with some other things but I have also been busy scrapping.  All are for new Challenges for Red Earth Scrapping, Classes & Shop Kits for Tomorrow's Memories or Layouts for Sketches2Scrapbook and not shareable yet, but today I have done the latest TCR Palette!

I have sprayed the chipboard with Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mist in Peacock and then sponge painted it with Warm White acrylic paint. The Calendar Month was painted with layers of Pool & Sandal Adirondack Acrylic Paint and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Cowboy and Icicle.

The background was misted using Tattered Angels Suede & Creme de Chocolat over a Prima Mask.

I have also used Prima Flowers, Prima Botanical PP, Tim Holtz Trim, Tim Holtz Tissue Tape, Creative Bitz Button, Crochet Trim & Doilies, TPC Button, Prima Pebbles, Kaiser Bling Flourish, Pink Paislee Daily Junk Notecard and some Core'dinations Cardstock.

Take care of you.

Challenged...

Michelle Grant decided to challenge me to do the TCR Palette #52, which I thought was great {especially since unbeknown to her I had all the colours I needed right in front of me by pure fluke}, my sneaky grin got wiped off my face when she also said I had to use Texture Paste or Clay, neither of which I had with me at the time!  Soooo... yesterday I picked up some white clay and borrowed a Krafty Lady Mould from the shop and played last night and created my first clay caste shape, a vintage keyplate.  I baked it and then went to bed and this morning got started on the layout.

Got to say, I'm a bit thrilled with everything... especially these GCD papers designed by Donna Salazar, so love them!!

On here I have some of my very favourite Dusty Attic pieces - the Skeleton Clock Face, Swirl Border, Mini Frames and a Key.  They've all been dabbed with warm white paint {I use Jo Sonya paint, it's just perfect} using just a baby wipe {better than a paint brush because you just throw it away afterwards} next I swiped some of my newest loves, Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Dusty Concorde and Spun Sugar, in a few spots and then sprayed with Pearl Glimmermist to blend the paint and ink stains, once dried I dabbed here and there with a little Hayride Glimmer Glam.  Back to the stains... OMG, how wonderful are these little dabber topped bottles of colour!  A little goes so so far and the colours are stunning... love love love them and I can't wait to see what else I can do with them!!

The clay, the FFS part of the challenge {LOL, because I thought I had got away with my devious secret} was such FUN!!  I kneaded it until it was pliable, pushed it into the mould, baked it for 15 minutes and whalla... gorgeous keyplate!!   I then simply dabbed it with some of the Hayride Glimmer Glam, dabbed with a little warm white paint so it wasn't too glossy and then added a little gold and silver rub'n'buff.  I love the look of it... moreso I loved the whole process of making it {thanks Michelle!}

I've had quite a free'ing learning weekend, I'll load up my layout I created using Anna Dabrowska Pekocka's gorgeous grungy style and inspired again by Michelle later on, I'm so so happy with it!!

Take care of you.

My Scrap Haven

Fueled with NEW Dusty Attic yummies, a Dusty Attic Challenge and an awesome colour palette and sketch from The Color Room, I created:

I'm so happy with the combination... and am so rapt that I've had a chance to play with some very delicious brights, it's not often that I am comfortable with them... but I think that is changing!

The Dusty Challenge is to "Scrap your Scrap Space"... grab some Dusty and play along because you could not only win a pack of the NEW Dusty, but can also win the opportunity to have a layout created just for you by one of Dusty's uber talented ladies: Steph Devlin, Trina McClune or Michelle Grant!! Comp ends 31st July... so get creating!!

Take care of you.

Saturday Night... do do do dooo do do...

Saturday night I had some lovely friends over to play, I feel so lucky to have these girls in my life! I only scrapped 2 layouts, but that's better than the 1 I did last time I had friends over to play!

Okies... so Rewind:

Saturday morning I went to get the pics from Kel & my date day printed out, and fell in love with one of them... so hot footed it down to Tomorrow's Memories {being my closest LSS that I knew would have the perfect everything} and grabbed some papers and embies to suit the photo {thanks Vicki} and also work in with this challenge:

And here it is:
Where [Do you go when you Daydream]

Not as stunning as my head imagined, but I'm happy with it! I love this pic of Kel... and you can see why I had to go to TM's right away, because while I have boy papers, I don't have soft antiquey bluey/brown boy papers! There's some delish Tim Holtz paper in there, some Glitz Vintage something and Dusty Attic Chipboard. Also some bits I got from Lil Red Rocket made it's way onto there!!

And so, while grabbing perfect bits of PP for the LO, MORE papers jumped into my hands while there - this BoBunny Mama-Razzi Diecut... and a few others from the range. All I can say is - OMG YUMMY!!

This was so simple, the Diecut PP, some TBZ Wrought Iron Flourishes, a Dusty Attic Key Plate, some Ephemera & Collections Butterflies, oh and of course a wee bit of bling!

And so was done the creating! Thanks to Bri & Allie, Tina, Jules & Nes for coming to play with me!!

Today I was shattered, it wasn't an overly shocking late night but I couldn't get going today and have had naps all day while Darren has fluffed about around me... and there's no way I'm admitting that I'm getting too old to handle a late night anymore LOL, but it could be I've had too many late nights the last few weeks... that one I might cope with admitting, I think next weekend will be a quiet one at home.

Take care of you.
