New York Patina - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #21

Here's the last layout I have to share with you from Issue #21.  I adore this one... my FAVE sight of NY was the Statue of Liberty, but when I was looking through all the photos, my eye kept coming back to all the patina tones on the buildings as well... so stunning!

For this one I used some larger trinkets I found in my stash.  A lot of them were jewellery findings...

I even cut up some Green Tara Silver Diamante Trim to create my own little trinkets.

Jewellery findings such as brooch backs just all to have a little resin flower added to them...

And others can be easily cut and tucked in under layers.

The Last New Beginning - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #21

My next layout featuring Trinkets is this Finnabair inspired one.  Well a very gentle form of her style anyway!  I've used some of her beautiful papers and her background stamping technique... and yeah that's about all.

I think I should never ever say "the last time" or "always and forever" because the universe seems to see that and laugh at me.  I've put back on 6kg since I did this layout, but I am trying to get back on track... just sometimes there are so many easy excuses as to why not to!

So anyways... I've used some sweet little trinkets for this one, some little brass ones, some resin ones I cast myself and some sweet little dew drops.

I also created a little cluster of trinkets to sit as a flower center...

This one below is a FAVE mould of mine, from Moulds by Mel

Live the Life - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #21

Goodness I've been remiss in sharing my latest magazine commission layouts {I was wondering why I had so many 'drafts' in my blog scheduling}!  Issue #22 is currently out and I've not even shared #21, bad bad Missy!

So... lets get some sharing happening!  Here's the one I'll be sharing today... this issue featured  Trinkets.  I love trinkets so it was a commission from heaven!

For this layout I've used heaps of trinkets that relate to Kel, to help tell a story about what he's all about...

Like  most boys he likes skulls and crossbones, but he also loves chess, music and is an avid recycler {we get in strife if we put things in the wrong bins}.

The key and chain is the chain he always wears that has his house key as well as other precious little 'trinkets' he's collected over the years.

He LOVES owls, so I always try and put an owl somewhere on any pages of his.  The headphones here are to show his love for gaming, he's always got a headset and mic on while playing.

And the shoe... well it's just a boy style trinket and I liked it, so it went on as well LOL!

Take the Time - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #20

This is the last layout for Issue #20 of Australian Scrapbook Ideas... this is my gorgeous sister.  You'd never meet someone with a more beautiful soul than hers.  This photo was taken at Christmas and I've added some meaningful words for the time, it's a bittersweet time... even more-so now.  She was going through perhaps the hardest thing anyone ever should go through, and amazing as she is she gave it her everything.  But to do that, you have to 'come home to yourself' as much as you can... you need to keep that so that you can continue giving.    Love you Nev!!

I used gorgeous peach and orange tones to offset the fabulous aqua/teal in the wood pattern of the "Elegant" paper from Donna Salazar's Botanique collection.

Sweet Green Tara Flowers... I love the 'floppy' Pincushion flower, it's soft and gentle on a page and so very versatile.

Cute little Antique Brass Charms from Handmade Halo... the clock for taking 'time' and the bee is symbolic of my sister, her first little tattoo was a cute little bee.  Charms are fabulous tools for helping emphasise more of the story on your layout.

Love this fabulous chippy piece from Dusty Attic, love the way it flows and accents the page without being visually heavy.

A gorgeous little find from Handmade Halo, nestled under a cluster of Green Tara flowers... love perfect little finds like that, they add so much understated elegance to a page!

Thanks again for stopping by... I'll have more to share with you soon!

Smile - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #20

My third layout for Australian Scrapbook Ideas #20 is a masculine one... I needed something more boys style among all the pretty girlish layouts!  This is my son Kellan, a while ago now but it's such a have photo of mine that I love scrapping it.

I have used lots of fabulous Dusty Attic Cogs for this one, some eyelets, buttons and some Handmade Halo Dew Drops... all those great circular elements add such flow to the layout.

There's a photographic step by step layout on how I achieved the finish on the cogs in the Magazine.

Thanks for visiting... I'll have the last layout from this article to share in a couple of days!

My Time - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone!

I just have a fun little share with you all today. Please excuse the gruesome photo... that's Zombie Mis, a little present from Natasha {ummm yeah, I gave a hesitant thanks... really chocolates would have been plenty enough!}. "My Time" is when The Walking Dead is on.  The boys know to not hassle me until the ad breaks are on!  So I thought why not scrap it, just another little snippet of who I am at this time.  Crazy thing is... Zombies scare the daylights out of me, yet I love this show.

Thankfully though I didn't scrap it Zombie Style... I used instead my fave papers from Donna's new ranges and my fave flowers cut using the Rose Creations die...

...and a sweet as butterfly cut from Denim using the Wonderful Wings Die, then topped off with some matching Bling from Want2Scrap.

I love these alphabet stickers from GCD Studios.  They are a great shape and size and I love the dictionary print... here I've just inked the edges lightly with Mix'd Media Inx Chox to add a little more colour to them.

Underneath I've also inked with Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx over one of Donna's new Stencils from Want2Scrap.  I like the subtle effect, just adding a little more visual texture to the page.

I've popped in some trinkets, buttons and sweet little dew drops to finish it off...

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time, take care of you!

Blessed - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #20

The latest Australian Scrapbook Ideas magazine is out and here's the first of my layouts for them this issue.  I did a Masterclass on the Rule of Thirds, a principal I always seem to use, even unknowingly.

I've been going through the magazine daily since I got my copy in the mail... it's fabulous, getting better and better.  So many wonderful ideas to incorporate into your own style!

I've used lots of Green Tara Flowers and Handmade Halo Resin and Dew Drops on this one, and all those fabulous pinky peach tones, sigh... love girly girly sometimes!

Lots of sweet Dusty Attic chippy as well... painted and inked and covered in glitter {there's a little tutorial on how in the magazine}.

Love the tones in these papers...

More closeups... lots of deliciousness!!

Thanks for visiting today, I hope this inspires you!
