Bliss - Green Tara

Hi again!!  Today I have a layout of my god-daughter to share.  She lives 8 hours away from us now, thankfully Facebook helps me stay in touch, and allows me to grab photos of her to continue to scrap for her album I started when she was a child.  I loved this sepia image of her, doing a little modelling for a local vintage clothing store.

I have used gorgeous white Wild Rose and Heirloom flowers here to freshen up the sepia in these Bo Bunny papers, and also some Light Brown 2cm Roses that were just the perfect colour!

I love to use the flat White Petals to layer and tuck in under clusters and underneath layers, they simply extend the clusters and help add some softness to edges.

I have added some ribbon layers, under and over the photo.  Some Natural Jute, Coloured Jute and pretty Off White Lace.  Just little snippets can add a lot of impact.

I only had a tiny bit of the Round Silver Diamante Trim left, so have cut it into singular sections and used it as sweet 'blingy' embellishments!  I love that they match the centre of the Wild Rose so well!

I've cut some butterflies out of canvas with the Spellbinders Wonderful Wings Die, sprayed them lightly with some watered down Dusty in Colour Mountain Meadow Paint.  The fabulous Bling is from Want 2 Scrap and are made to perfectly fit the Wonderful Wings dies!

Thanks for stopping by!

Serious? - Donna Salazar Designs

Hiya lovelies!!  Today I have a far from serious layout to share with you... yep, that's me pulling faces for the camera.  I was all dressed up ready to go out, although my hair was still up because I'd just put makeup on... and Natasha wanted to see... so she got this pic.  Thought I best scrap it before she did LOL!

I did have a lot of serious fun with this one though.  I was at a retreat with my mum, and she's laughing at me because I kept adding and playing... but that's what I do when I'm having fun with a layout.

I have stamped, painted, misted, stenciled, made a mess, added more paint, more stamping... yep, had fun!

I used one of Donna's new Stencils from Want 2 Scrap for this one to add a little texture to the page.  I positioned the stencil and coated it with modelling paste.  Once dried I misted it with SeaBreeze Smooch Spritz and then swiped some metallic rub over the top to pic up the details.

One of my Wild Roses created using Donna's Rose Creations Die from Spellbinders.  You can find a tutorial for these HERE.   I've also coloured some paper flowers to match, popped in a cream resin flower and hand painted a resin flower I cast in resin myself from a mould.

I've cut some butterflies from denim using Donna's Wonderful Wings Die from Spellbinders, then given them a quick mist with Pralines and Cream Smooch Spritz.  Once they were dry I added the Want 2 Scrap Bling that's perfectly made to fit.

I hope you like this one, it was lots of fun to create!

MyLife Art Tags - Inspire

Hi everyone!  Here's the next word for our Art Tags...

And here is my creation... inspired from my classes I did with Finnabair earlier this month.

Again I have used leftovers sitting on my desk to create this... some 7 Dots papers by Finnabair, flowers and trinkets and a piece of silk ribbon.

I adhered the paper to the tag, and cut some circles from the patterned paper, then it was coated with gesso.  I outlined the circles with 6B pencil, smudging the lines and then sprayed it with Luminarte H2O's Burnt Umber Primary Elements Mist.

Inspire was another great word, coming just after my classes with Finn, she's an amazing talent and so very friendly... was great to learn some of her techniques as well as be inspired by her character.

Love all those layers of photo and flowers...

One of my handmade flowers using Donna's Grand Peony Die from Spellbinders, with a Dusty In Bloom Flower, and Green Tara Roses... love love love flowers - and I love the aqua with the mossy green, cream and splash of red!!

Vintage Charm - Dusty Attic

Hi again everyone!  Today I have a sweet and shabby layout to share with you.  The photo is of my beautiful god-daughter modelling vintage clothes for a store in her town... I loved the whole vintage look of it.

I have used the ever so delicate Flower Buds as a feature on this layout.  They are truly beautiful and add just that wisp of detail that some layouts need.   I've added some Flutterbies #3 fluttering about the flower buds, as they do... and also used the Paddock Fence to help frame the scene.

Everything was painted white with Dusty in Colour Alabaster Acrylic Paint, it's perfect for these delicate chipboard cuts because you only really need one coat, which helps avoid damage.

The buds and wing tips of the flutterbies were dabbed with a little glue and then sprinkled with fairy dust glitter.

I have used some sweet flowers from Green Tara to soften the chipboard clusters, the pale peach Heirloom flower was just the right shade to compliment the papers and the Swarovski crystal satin flowers added a little more understated bling!

The title uses Typewriter ABC Set, which was painted white and then swiped with peach chalk ink, and that's all it needed to create a shabby chic look.

Thanks for visiting today, until next time, take care of you!

Coco [Sleeping Bunny] - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone... today I have a layout to share of my sleeping pooch, Coco.  Whenever I'm on the couch, she's there with me, spoilt girl she is.  She's got many names: Coco, Bunny, Rabbit - Coco was the name we gave her when we got her, but Bunny and Rabbit followed as she hops all the time, crazy pup - she answers to them all though, she may be crazy but she's smart!

Look see... she's sitting with me even as I type this post up LOL.

So anyways... the pretties...

I've created some Wild Roses using Donna's Rose Creations Dies... there is a tutorial for these here.  I've also used some ruffles, my new favourite 'have to make' item!

When I pulled the face sheet from the Corrugated board, I punch some strips from them to create little perfectly matched borders.

And I've popped in some chipboard, inked with Mixed Media Inx in Vintage and Truffle.  These inks work so well with raw chipboard, the tones always blend so well and keep their colour without having to undercoat the chippy with gesso or paint.

Just a quick little share for today... I'll be back with more later.  Until then, take care of you!

Always - Australian Scrapbook Ideas #19

I get so excited when my magazine copy arrives from Australian Scrapbook Ideas... not only because I get to see my stuff in there, but because there's always heaps of great ideas.  Really do love the whole setup of this mag, with it's instructions and ideas and hints... so much to fuel the imagination!

Anyways, Issue #19 is out in Newsagents NOW and my article was for a masterclass on using up those leftover chipboard alphas we all have, called Love Letters.  This is my first layout for it... where I used up piles of random alphas!

That's myself and my hubby eons ago LOL... very early in our marriage, I'm thinking Kel would have been about 2 judging by Darren's long hair, so maybe we'd been married 4 years.  There wasn't a date on the back of the photo, darn it!  Wish he'd grow his hair long again... he was a bit cute then!

The title for this one came as I was creating it... I was listening to my iPod, and on came The Cure, perfect title in a song!

Working with the magazine I get to use all the new and yummy products at the time, and I also get to use all my favourite things together - it's truly creative heaven!

This layout uses flowers from Green Tara, Dusty Attic and Handmade Halo, all my favourite places... one of my fave uses for the 'older' style petals from Green Tara is to fold them over and tuck them in under edges and clusters.  I say older because they've been around so long... but they still are so versatile and are a 'have to have in my stash' item.

There are step by step instructions as well as full product list for this layout in #19 of Australian Scrapbook Ideas.  Order online via subscription @ http://www.practicalpublishing.com.au/category/asi/ or see your local Newsagent.

I'll have more layouts from this issue to share with you soon.

Industrial ATC - Dusty Attic

Hi everyone!!  Today I have my March Dusty Attic ATC to share with you.  This month's theme of "Industrial" had me grabbing out some mini cogs, bricks and a mini grass cluster... I wanted to show that even though we are still such an industrial world, nature left to it's own devices will always peek through.

I even found some rusted bits in my stash... knew I was holding onto these for a reason!

The cool coach screw {I think that's what my hubby called it} is cast in resin from a mould from Moulds by Mel, she's got some fabulous designs for all kinds of things now!

The chipboard cogs were painted with Golden Iridescent Stainless Steel Acrylic paint, it has a wonderful rough texture and is perfect for the cogs.  I added a little Adobe Mix'd Media Inx to the edges to help them match my rusty bits.

The texture on the bricks was created with embossing powders, I have a tutorial for them HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time, take care of you!!
