Cupcake anyone...?

This month Helen @ Red Earth sent me some uber fabulous papers from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Collection... look at these cool cupcake colours!!

and what about the actual cupcake!

I LOVE cupcakes, to me they are soul food because they can only ever make you happy... and they're even better when someone else makes them. Kel made these, his first 'all by himself' attempt, not bad hey!

Checked patterns usually scare the bejeezus out of me, but this one with all that hot pink glitter... OMG it was the 1st paper out of it all that I grabbed to play with... I think it was perfect for the pic of Kel's cupcake!
From Red: MME Adore Pleated Skirt, Prima Liliput Roses, Dusty Attic Songbird, Green Tara Lace, Maya Road Pin, Carolee's Milk Chocolate Alphabet Stickers
My Stash: Beaded Trim, Doily, Crocheted Doily, Kaiser Rhinestone Strip, Little Yellow Bicycle Journal Card, KandCo Brad, L'il Red Rocket Button, Mini Paper Roses

There's more to come... so keep an eye out here or over at Red Earth Scrapping!!

Take care of you.

Mmmmm love getting Dusty!

I very rarely use purple, have always shied away from it for some reason - but these papers were so delicious and it felt so right for the Dusty French Window and Dress Form. I think purple will be seen again from me... it's such a wonderful colour!

I've been dying to use the Dress Form, but with few and far photos that would actually suit it I was rapt when I found this 'wallpaper' image of Bella in her wedding dress for the Breaking Dawn movie {that I sooooo can't wait to be finished}. I really love this 'love story' and enjoy scrapping it, so thought why not create myself a Twilight album of scenes and images that move me - as they say 'girls just wanna have fun' and for me, this is pure 'creative' fun!

Tool Time...

ok, well not quite... but it's a "Dusty Attic Mini Tool Caddy" time!

Isn't this sweet... it's the perfect size for holding all the bits I'm working with on a project {tools, glimmermists, hand cream, paints, glue, tape} so I don't lose them all over the desk and under papers and chipboard. It's also handy because my cheeky Coco can't help herself into it and chew up everything {this week I have lost my craft knife, a tube of Jo Sonya paint and my gold rub'n'buff because I left them laying on the table near the edge... where Coco decided they'd great to either eat or puncture}.

I've decorated it with perfectly vintage paper from Inspired Crafts, my FAVE little roses from Tomorrow's Memories, Prima Flowers & Swirls from Red Earth and also one of the new release Flourishes from Dusty Attic. I love my cute little caddy, covered in a few of my favourite things...

Take care of you.

Tomorrow's Newsletter!!

The Tomorrow's Memories Newsletter and Timetable are now up on the Tomorrow's Website, go have a read and see what we've all been up to, see what classes they have on offer for August and September... and maybe book in!

I have an Altered Shadow Box Class in August which is pretty special I think! It's filled with Dusty Attic chipboard to show off a treasured photo. I'll show you how I layer paints, crackles, rub’n’buff and stickles to create a worn textured look. You’ll also get to play with Distress inks, Glimmermist and UTEE plus I'll show you how to hand-dye muslin to create the right shade for your project.

In September I have a Layout Class, full of visual and tangible texture... we're going to create a layout to celebrate that 'Something Beautiful' you have in your treasures!

Hope to see you there!!

Take care of you.

What happens when...

you combine Dusty Attic with Pagemaps?

An uber AWESOME August Pagemaps feature!! Seriously... us Dustettes rock!

Here's some of the closeups... pop on over to Pagemaps and have a look at what the rest of the Dusty Attic team created... it's a visual feast for the eyes!

I had an absolute ball creating this... it's one of my pride and joys. Working with the 8.5x11 Double was also fabulous... might do a few more at this size now.

Take care of you.

Kellan... again!

LOL... lots of Kel for once, poor child has been neglected scrap wise lately in my need for girly and MORE on a LO... but the break has done me well I think, I've had the best fun creating boy themed LO's!

So I have my Dusty Attic hat on now LOL! This is a simple clean one. I kept trying to add more too it, but I like the simplicity... like having that Dusty Attic Skeleton Clock standing out and framing the pic.

I have used some 7 Gypsies Paper {this one is available at Tomorrow's Memories}, and Dusty Attic Mini Fleur de Lis, Skeleton Clock Face {from their new release} and a couple of custom cut pieces. I loved the the Mini Fleur de Lis fitted in beautifully with the PP!!

I have used various techniques here... all involving inks, distress paints, UTEE, Glimmer Mists etc. The Skeleton Clock has some Fusible Film applied to the reverse to create the holographic coloured effect, I am LOVING using the Fusible Film under these clock faces, match made in Mistra heaven!

If you're hunting down some Dusty Attic goodness, Dusty Attic have a retailers list on their Ning site here. If you are having trouble trying to find some internationally, nag your favourite scrap shop to contact Dusty!! Also remember that a lot of the Australian stores will ship internationally as well, just pop them an email and see what they can arrange for you.

Take care of you.

Love [this kid] Always

and I do... he might be a teenager but I'm not seeing the teen angst yet {thank you god in heaven}, I see a child who cant do enough to make me happy, I get hugs and I love you's and he does anything I ask of him, and fluffs over me when I'm worn out and tired... love him SO much!

These papers were in the Red Earth August Mini Kit... and I almost tried to not use them. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED them... but the patterns were so lovely I didn't want to cover them up. So I realised I didn't have to... I cut the patterns out instead. I am SO in love with the Dragon... and Kel thinks he's a bit cool as well!

I also love this shot of Kel! The original in colour was a bit washed out, but with the Lightroom Filter it came out a treat!

I was inspired by the 'wrinkly corners' some fab US girls have been using on their LO's... so had to play. As always mine's a bit rougher and not so refined, but it was FUN!

The Dusty Chipboard was inked, then embossed in places with Ranger Antiquites Embossing Powder in Verdigris, UTEE'd and then sprayed with Pirates Plunder Gold MoonShadow Mist.

Red Earth Mini Kit: 7 Gypsies Papers, 7 Gypsies Key & Cream/Jute Ric Rac.

Red Earth: Jenni Bowlin Pin, Cardstock, Carolee's Adorn It Alpha Stickers

From my Stash: Dusty Attic Scroll #3 {Trimmed}, Dusty Attic Words, 7 Gypsies Card, Muslin, Collections Label, Metal Buttons, Tim Holtz Journal Ticket

Take care of you.

Pie2

Today I actually found a use for Pi, caused much chattering at work when someone gave us the circumference of a circle sticker to quote and not the diameter... therefore using Pi, we got the answer. I would say you learn something new everyday... but I'm sure I was taught this in highschool... but that was sooooooooo long ago, so sometimes you RE-learn something new everyday!

Here's another use for Pie:

I've had these pics of the boys since May, and when Helen sent me the August Mini Kit to play with I knew the papers would be PERFECT!!
To create this I have used the following.
From Red Earth Mini Kit: 7 Gypsies PP, Jenni Bowlin Pin, 7 Gypsies Mini Keys.
From Red Earth: Dusty Attic Wrought Iron Fence Border
My Stash: Dusty Attic Lamp Post #1, Chan's Crocheted Trim, Antique Music Sheet, Tim Holtz Journal Ticket, German Scrap, Muslin, Dusty Attic Custom Cut Title.

The chipboard was finished with swipes of Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Luminarte Daubers, UTEE and Gold Glimmermist.

Take care of you.

Kellan [9 months]

Using Red Earth's August Mini Kit... yummy papers!

I was so excited to find an unscrapped baby pic of Kel, of course I didn't go all baby'ish, but I did sneak some flowers in there {so excited to use flowers on a 'boy' page}. I love this though...

From Red Earth Mini Kit: 7 Gypsies PP, Jenni Bowlin Pin, RicRac {Jute/Cream}
From Red Earth: Dusty Attic Wrought Iron Fence Border
My Stash: Chan's Crocheted Trim, Dusty Attic Scroll #3 {trimmed to suit}, Paper Inklings Doily, Petaloo Color Crazy Flowers, 7 Gypsies Tag, 7 Gypsies Transparency {Le Monde}, Jenni Bowlin Ticket, K&Co Brad Button, Prima SIIP Flower Centres, Dusty Attic Custom Cut Word.
The flowers, Dusty chippy scroll and doily were all coloured with Glimmermist {Layers of Gold, Denim Blue & Blue Skies}

Take care of you.
