My Boy

I've been wanting to re-scrap this photo of my son Kellan for a while, it's one of my favourites.  He was so young, but I still remember the day like yesterday... it's amazing how quickly time flies by!  It was just a day at Trigg Beach, having a sausage sizzle for lunch and sitting in the autumn sunshine.  He'd happily let me take the most lovely photos {whereas now at almost 16 it's all about how many faces he can pull before I give up LOL}

So anyways... I finally got it done, using these perfect papers by Donna Salazar from her Storybook Collection.  I've mixed the reverse side of 2 of them, Army Men and Argh.  The tones and soft patterns, teamed up with some Dusty Attic chippy were just right for a beachy theme!

The Dusty Attic chippy shells, fence and alphas were simply inked around the edges with Truffle Mix'd Media Inx, leaving most of the surface raw.

The Compatibles Chipboard Alphabet letters are designed to fit with Donna's Alphas, I've just left them as is and dabbed some Truffle Mix'd Media Inx.

Kel is very particular that I cannot use 'girl stuff' on a layout {ie flowers... sigh}, but I'm getting away with denim ones so far.  I've created a flower with layers and denim and gauze... and then ended up hiding it under the bow {I know, bows are girlish, but not so bad when using this coloured Jute Ribbon}

The Grass Clusters work so well for so many themes, especially a boy, beachy theme!

The Crooked Fence reminded me of the old fashioned beach fences I've seen in photos, I trimmed off the top to enhance the beachy look.

I cut a cute tab from some denim using the Spellbinders Creative Page Tabs, tucked in some gauze here and there to soften the layout.

 The gauze was coloured with a few sprays of Caramel Latte Smooch Spritz.  There is so much fabulous colour in these cute little bottles all it needed was a couple of spritzes and a misting of water to colour all I needed!

Thanks for visiting, take care and
