Oh I love Basic Grey... still...

Yep... it's been a while but today I did a full BG LO! I loved it! Uses Urban Couture, Hang Ten and a bit of Kraft... a wicked Fancy Pants Big Board Flourish {love 'em} and lots a letters!!
I have fun doing this... the digi stamp on the photo {loved} is by Katie Pertiet, downloaded from somewhere on the net!!
I adore this photo I snapped of Kel and Darren last Friday... a special moment and one hard to capture these days!!

Scrappi Dai April

Had a Scrappi Dai with the girls today... was a fantabulous day as always!! I did 2 LO's... this one here of my neice giving us her 'signature' pout!! And the other was for my DT committment that I love love love, but is under wraps until June!!

Last night mum and dad took us to the Rockabilly Diner for dinner... a hamburger joint in Armadale! It was great. The burgers were sensational... they had a singer singing all the old songs, Kellan was perfect and we just sat back, listened to the music and watched the kids wander around with ice-creams and smiles!

Happy Dance...

I'm dancing around again! Got another submission accepted!! Scrapbooking Memories are "considering" I wanna be a RockStar" for an upcoming issue!! I am waaaaay excited because one... I LOVE this LO and two... I had a feeling!! I submitted 2 at the same time and one was knocked back the next day. I wasn't getting my hopes up... but was thrilled to bits they were actually 'looking' at this one!! So... it's a couple of posts down... and I will cover it up with a fancy cover up thing later tonight {coz I have to make a cover up thing yet}!! I'll send it on Monday so the Scrappi Dai girls can have a IRL look at it tomorrow and I can show my ma tonight!!

Can I have one please...?

I really really want one of these... not the laptop {although I wouldn't mind one for portability sake}... but the hedgehog!

I found this gorgeous guy on my new site addiction Cute Overload and I have fallen in love with them... so can I have one pleeeeaaasse... guess I'll have to settle for pretend ones since we don't have them in Australia... yet!!

another day... another LO...

I love weekends when the urge to scrap just for the fun of it happens!! I did another today... love these pics of Kellan being uncooperative and feral. I was wanting nice, loving, laughing shots and got these... which made for a great LO! He loves them and wants me to take more Rockin' shots!!
It's shots like these where it's fun to have a boy... get to use the rougher side of the scrap world supplies!!

Easter Sunday... and a Layout!

Kel was rapt with his Easter Eggs, was so pleased there were so many even after Sassy helping herself to them! We didn't get to do the Hunt... as these were the ones she ate yesterday!!
Got some shots of Kel starting on one of the bunnies... and scrapped it today!! Busy day today... I swept, did dishes, did washing, did more dishes... and cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner... and scrapped a double! Been a while since I did a 12x24 double!! Here 'tis:

I thought this was a fun title... especially with these pics! It does have hidden journalling explaining the true meaning of easter.. and the Australian traditions that go with it! Kel asked today about why the eggs if rabbits don't lay eggs... so it's all explained in the journalling!!

and we ended in a very good evening...

We have had the best happy day... well Darren has, I try to be happy as often as I can!
We had lunch at his mum's house and he and I both got birthday presents - vouchers so we could buy what we want {me most likely some hair dye soon, those greys are sneaking back again - I know, sad sad sad}. Darren's brother spoilt him and gave him enough money to buy a new pc game he's been hankering for. I know times are tough and we should be spending it on survival, but it's his birthday and I think mental survival is a little more crucial at the moment... we won't starve and bills are paid, so I told him to go for it and spoil himself, it's money we wouldn't have had otherwise. So he's happily playing his new game and will likely be MIA for days!! So... he's 39 now - wow he's old! When did we grow up... I'm sure we were only in our 20's last year!?! Well at least we have an excuse for a big party next year!!

Still 2 more days off... woohoo!

Here's Kel being the Easter Bunny... oh speaking of Easter...
Got home to discover the dog had helped herself to the stash of easter eggs I've hidden away... was furious as we only had a few and she ate the Turkish Delight ones {Kel's and mine faves}. Poor kid doesn't get much these days and the dogs steals his eggs! Kel however was more worried about Sassy as it's been drummed into him that dogs shouldn't eat chocolate... he's a good boy! They were inside a bag, that was inside another bag... and packaged in sealed plastic and wrapped in foil and she still found them.. but left the big single foil only wrapped ones... phew for that though! So she's eaten this bag of Turkish Delight eggs... foil and all!! She'll be feeling sorry next toilet time that's for sure. She'll be fine, Dalmations have a tough stomach... but will still have to keep an eye on her... devil dog! She still looks mighty happy with herself though... cheeky mutt!

MIL gave us all Easter Eggs today... unusual for her as she doesn't usually do that, so all us kids were like... well kids!! And she had a B'day cake for Darren, obviously...but for me as well!! I was so surprised and touched - I'm so glad I get on with my in-laws!! So we all ate Darren's cake and I have the other one here in the fridge... diet... what diet!! ROFL!!!

Next weekend we're off with my family for dinner - their shout, out somewhere that 'really hip and cool'... this could be interesing!! But will be fun for sure! I always have fun in the company of family... direct or extended!!

Phew... good day!

Darren is having a good day... so we are all having a good day! He was in a very very dark place the last few days, but seems to have broken out of it. Hopefully he can stay this way for a while as he doesn't enjoy that dark world, well who would!

But today is going well. He liked his desktop... I made him breakky and he is smiling on his birthday! All is how it should be!

Chat later... hopefully will have some pics to share!

Still digi'n it!

Made myself a desktop background... then made one for hubby as it's his b'day tomorrow and he's feeling a little down as we have no finances - why that's a deal is beyond me as we don't do presents, but sometimes I guess you can't help feeling that way. So I made one for him as well and put it on his computer - so when he wakes up in the morning and goes to the computer it will be there for him!! Digikits again thanks to ShabbyPrincess Free Downloads, and a little bit from Kim Crothers.

Here's mine:

and here's Darren's:

My First Digital Layout!

Did it.. I finally did a full Digital Layout! Now I've tried it... and can say I still prefer to get messy with the tangible stuff! But I had fun and it only took 1/2 hour. The best thing though... my desk is still spotless!!

Digi kit thanks to ShabbyPrincess.

Doodling...

I have succumbed... I decided to try this doodling phase the scrap world is going through. I like the ones that are swirly and scrolly... here's my attempt. I'm quite pleased with it... yeah some are a bit off kilter/busy, but it's fun and I will definately do more of it!!

This is one of the layouts I have done of the Retreat I went on... the rest are on the Scrappi Dais site if you want to go see.

New Banner...

Sooo I was bored tonight. Added some width to the blog, it's scary but this html stuff is starting to make sense... eeeek!! Then decided I needed a new banner. So downloaded a free digi kit by Kim Crothers and have had my first digital scrap experience... 'cept there's no pics and it's pretty simple! But hey... a girl's gotta start somewhere!!
My lovely friend Flee has kept me occupied chat wise... Lisa kept running off on cyber space walks {bet she's on the po'd side by now}... I sent Darren to his brothers to chill out and Kel & I have just been vegging here.
I even did the dishes... now that is bored!! I'd scrap but have no recent pics and am sick to death of the old ones for now. I love them - but after putting together the last Angel Layouts have had a hankering to continue with the new funky papers I have!! So have warned Kel that a photo shoot is on the cards... he's so good he pleasantly answered 'yes mum' - well trained!!
Our new hot water system is HOT... sooo much better than the old one as being instantaneous we can just stand in the shower for as long as we want and it won't run out! Love it!!
Weather is getting cold during the nights now... am sitting here rugged up in my jammies and dressing gown... love being cosy and warm! Love winter... looking forward to it being warm enough to get the pot-belly fired up, nothing quite like listening to it crackle away!!

Happy Easter

Isn't this guy the cutest... awwww widdle bunny wabbit!

I found him on my new favourtie site - CuteOverload. He's sooo cute... look at those feet and teeny tail!!

Hope you all have a lovely easter break. If you're out driving please be aware and stay safe!

Hope this bunnies mummy comes to visit you!!

It's a Friday kinda Thursday...

Don't ya just love it when Thursday is the last day of the working week because Friday is a holiday!?! Even though I had Tuesday off for the water heater I am still hanging for a long weekend!
This house is such a disgrace and I'm really hoping I can motivate myself to do a massive tidy up and then a big clean!
We have no plans other than Saturday we have lunch with the family as it's Darren's B'day - will be the last year he's in his 30's and he's none too happy about that!! Geeshe - look what age has done to us. For birthdays we used to go out and party party party... now we stay home with the parents...!!!
I have to work on my birthday... blah! I could have taken holidays, but with no lots of funds to spend I'll go stir crazy. I prefer to be able to shop and go to cafes with friends... go out with friends etc on holidays... so will wait until the next school holidays!!
OK... I'm off to work now... have a good day y'all!!

What other things can I fit in here!!

What mixed drink..

You Are a Strawberry Daiquiri

You're a fun, playful drinker who loves to party.
You may get totally wasted, but you're always a happy drunk!

How boyish/girlish am I:

You Are 40% Boyish and 60% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

What kind of food am I?

You Are Chinese Food

Exotic yet ordinary.
People think they've had enough of you, but they're back for more in an hour.

What's your funky inner hair colour...?

This is pretty close to the outer hair colour right now!!

Your Hair Should Be Orange

Expressive, deep, and one of a kind.
You pull off "weird" well - hardly anyone notices.

What kind of soul are you...

Oh, now I'm having fun... !!

You Are a Bright Star Soul

Like a shining star, you have no trouble being the center of attention
In fact, you often feel a bit hurt when all eyes aren't on you
You need to be number one in everything, no matter how trivial
And it's this ego that both hurts your confidence and helps you acheive

You're dramatic and a powerhouse of pure energy
You posess a divine quality or uniqueness that's hard to define
A natural performer, it's likely you'll become famous in some circles.
Just learn not to take everyone's reaction to you so personally!

Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul and Prophet Soul

What Colour Blog Should You Be...

Found this on Ali Stafford's Blog... we all know I'm a sucker for these things!!

Your Blog Should Be Blue

Your blog is a peaceful, calming force in the blogosphere.
You tend to avoid conflict - you're more likely to share than rant.
From your social causes to cute pet photos, your life is a (mostly) open book.
What Color Should Your Blog or Journal Be?

Well... I like my green blog... but yes, my life is an open book!!

Another Scrapalicious Day

I scrapped like a mad thing yesterday!! I did 5 Layouts in the one day! None have photos as I am yet to take them... but we all know I'm weird! I loved working with these new papers {can't say what yet - it's the next LC's Angel Feature}! When I first got them from Lynn I loved them, but then got the "OMG what do I do with them" thing happening again!!
I had all my sketches etc organised as I mentioned yesterday... sat there for a couple of hours going "ummmmm" and then went for it! Subsequently not one of them match my sketches, why do I work that way? Yeah ok... cause I'm weird!!
Sooo what else... were going to go out yesterday, but didn't, Darren crashed for a nanna nap and stuffed that idea!! We do have a new hot water system coming on Tuesday though... woohooo - hot water!! And darn it - I'll have to take the day off for him to come as Darren is actually working a whole 5 hours that day, we're slowly getting back to normal there!!
Were supposed to go out for sausage sizzle today.. but haven't! BIL and neice came over today - so at least Darren and Kellan each have someone to play with!! So we did the sausage sizzle here! Tonight off to MIL's for dinner and a hot shower!! Ohhh how nice will that be... can't do another old fashioned basin bath!!
That's all for today... pretty much just been vegging away nice and content!! Love my weekends!!

An Anniversary...

It's mine and DH's 11th wedding Anniversary today! Nothing special happening other than water heater shopping {woohoo - not}, but it's our day. We are going to a favourite spot this afternoon for a sausage sizzle... have a walk by the dam... feed the kookaburras... let Kel play with his cousin if they can make it as well. Not what I originally had planned {weekend at Burswood being wickedly decadent}... but will still be lovely as we can spend a few hours away from the hussle-bussle of our life and just be a family.

As our funds are non-existant we have no cards or gifts... but gifts have never been an important part of our special occasions! We did, however, treat each other to small tubs of Connoisuer Ice-Cream!!! Of which, I just ate mine - Cookie Cream Commotion - {with Kellan helping} and I'm sure Darren will leave his {Chocolate Obsession} in the freezer to tease me for weeks to come!!

I was determined to sleep in today and snuggle with hubby... but that didn't happen! I can't sleep past 8am now and it annoys me! When Kel was old enough to fend for himself in the mornings, I used to sleep in until 11am on a Saturday - Darren would be up - but I would snore away... not now!! Guess I caught up on the lack of sleep I had when Kel was a bub!! Taking care of a baby and working full-time doesn't leave much unbroken sleep for a mum!! But this last year... usually wide awake {well half awake} by 8am... 9 at the latest!!

I have Angel LO's to do with some FAB papers... not my usual thing, but I love them {mind you - what's usual for me these days!!} I have sketches ready, matched this with that - just have to get photos. But might scrap them anyway and then put the photos in afterwards - wouldn't be the first time! Sometimes I just want to scrap, but never have the right pic. So I scrap and add the pic later!! Is that called obsession or just plain old desperate!?!

Well that's me for today... take care all!!

Cute cute cute!!!

I just found the cutest little site! It's called CuteOverload and has the cutest images!! Go have a see, it will put a smile on your face. I found it from Clare Gollner's site {Clearbrite to the forum world}... so thanks Clare, you brightened my day!!

Here is one of the cute images from the site:

Awwwww now isn't that the cutesiest little bunny...

Quick post...

Yesterday I got my next DT pack.. and wowee - these papers are yummo! Now what to do with them!?! I also put the next Angel Medley together last night - record time! It is going to be gorgeous again - but then I am so totally biased!! Poor Lynn would've been up to all hours answering my emails - do you have, can you get - doubt she got many orders packed! Sorry Lynn but I was on roll!!
My last Angel Medley is selling really well - phew - so if you were thinking of getting one with those stunning Daisy D's papers, get in quick!! I can't stop using the Daisy D Heirloom papers. I had one of every pattern and have nearly used them all...
And on exciting news... {well exciting for me}... I got my precious BG Urban Couture pack... as glorious as I thought it would be!!
And RIBBONS!! I just sorted through and posted the LC's 3 Ribbons Swaps so have 30 yummy metres here... and just received a stash from Lynn. She has bought in these retro, circle and flower designs in satin and they are only $1.00 per metre... talk about bargain!! I almost have enough to roll in them!!
OK... so it was a supply ramble... but is there any better thing in life than scrap supplies. Well perhaps winning Lotto - but that aside... woohoo for new scrap stuff!!

Unproductive...

Yesterday was by far a very unproductive day! Scrapped 1 {yes a whole ONE} 8x8 LO and that's it! Sorry Karen - still haven't got your CJ finished... will try today!!

The NOT SO LOVELY ANYMORE Lisa played an April Fool's Day prank on us Scrappi Dais girls... she's the devil this girl! And the ever sweet Karen ain't so sweet anymore, being in on it as well! I really am the fool though - fell for it hook, line and sinker and really really really shoulda known better considering the day... but as Chelle said - she'll keep! Read all about it on the Scrappi Dais Blog. And yes ladies - you are both forgiven - I still love you both... but one day... one day an opportunity will arise and the rest of us Scrappi Dai girls will be sure to take it!!

Went to MIL's house for coffee, then came home and The Stepford Wives remake was just starting on Foxtel - so I watched that instead. Was funny, I enjoyed it...

Today so far... washing, dishes... oh the thrills of not being rich enough to have a maid!! How'd that lotto ticket go Lisa..? that would be a good way to play make up for the prank!!

Saturday, 1 April 2006

Weekend is here...

Who doesn't love the weekends... especially one that's cool and cloudy, inviting you to stay all snug in your jammies with a nice hot coffee, doing whatever you want! Well I guess a few of you won't like that - but this girl loves it! I love winter and we're having our first touch of it today!!
I've been off sick for 2 days... literally had trouble actually getting out of bed. All my muscles and joints were agony, head was thumping, nose blocked, fevers up and down. But today after much rest and medication I feel finally on the mend... everything still hurts but the rest has done me good!

So what does the weekend hold... not a lot. As I said its cold and overcast - perfect veggin' weather! We did plan to have a sausage sizzle sometime... but perhaps that will be tomorrow. I think Kel wants to go to Minnawarra Park to feed the ducks. I also have to go buy ribbons for the swaps I am hosting - slack me is the last one to get them sorted... but no pennies to buy said ribbons. Darren gave me some money, enough to get them so I'll go up the shops later!! Love buying ribbons!!

Hopefully I can get some scrapping in... as well as some more sleeps, need to be well for Monday, I'm sure there will be heaps of work for me to do when I get back!

I did finish a layout that I started with the girls last weekend. Didn't know what to do as a title and settled for boring - but hand sewed it to make it pretty! Here 'tis:

The flowers are made from ribbons - Ali Stafford showed us how to make them at the retreat and I've been dying to use them! I used some of that vignetted wire edged ribbon here for the big flowers and love the effect!

This one I did last night - Lisa & I both don't like the staples. Works for others - but not me, so I'll be changing that later - when I get the energy!! But one has to try these things on for size to see if they suit before making a decision!

So that's it! My new Angel LO's are in the Angel Gallery now... using Daisy D's Heirloom papers and my fave LO's at the moment! Go have a see... also the new Angel Medley is out for sale - again great value for money... and features those gorgeous Daisy D's Papers!!

Hopefully I will have some new Layouts to share next time! If we're lucky they won't be of me!!
